KnowledgeView Users' Group established, with an active online site for members
With over 4000 journalists and informational professionals using RAPID Browser in more than 40 media organisations, it has become necessary to establish the users' group, allowing users real input on how RAPID Browser is developed to serve their needs. The KnowledgeView users' group will feature an online site on and at least one users' get-together per year.
The successful informal users' group meeting, held in Abu Dhabi in June 2007, and attended by leading users of RAPID Browser and RAPID Archive, recommended the establishment of the users' group. It also provided real input for the new advanced features found in RAPID Browser 1.6 and RAPID Archive 2.0, released in February 2008.Membership of the users' group is free for all licensees of KnowledgeView software with a maintenance contract. The services offered to members of the users group are:
- Online access to latest technical information on RAPID Browser, RAPID Archive and new developments on online and mobile publishing, and convergent newsroom solutions. Users can post comments, ask questions, exchange experiences and suggest new features.
- Online "Write Boards" and message boards allowing users to post their experiences on the use of the software for editorial workflow and multi-publishing and share it.
- Advanced notices of KnowledgeView's plans for new product features, inviting users to have an input into these features.
- Invitation to the Users' Group annual meeting to be held.
